The Space Charming 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom salt box house in quiet, historic residential neighborhood. This house was built in 1901 so it is well loved (and like any 100+ year old, not everything has aged gracefully) with many quirks and tons of character. Lots of space to spread out and relax. Off street parking for 2 cars, fenced in backyard with picnic area. Guest Access You will have access to both stories of the living space, kitchen, backyard, and communal areas.
Locally roasted coffee and cold breakfast provided, wifi, TV with Roku stick, audio system (just plug in your iPod and go!), book swap shelf, bicycle available to borrow. Dogs are welcome. Interaction with Guests Ideally we would meet every guest, but sometimes this may not be possible. We will be sure to leave a lot of information to help you acclimate quickly during your stay. The Neighborhood Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and a spacious backyard.
Fireworks are legal in the state of Maine, and can be heard nearby on some weekends. Our neighbors are respectful and do not set them off late at night, but sometimes the smoke can be smelled in and around our neighborhood (especially during holidays). This smell can get trapped in the house if the windows are open- so if you are sensitive to smoke smells try to keep the windows shut! Getting Around Downtown area is a short walk away, with several local restaurants, boutiques, book stores, parks, a local pub, and more. Just a 3-5 minute drive from two grocery stores, and 10-15 minutes from Topsham and Brunswick. There is even a trolley to serves as our public transportation. Weekend farmer’s markets and local events happening often! Lots to do in this cool little city! Close to state parks and beaches (driving distance). Other Things to Note While old New England houses are charming, they are often misunderstood. Many things that people interpret as "dirty" are really just evidence of an old and well loved house. Stains and scratches on wooden floors and tables, knicks in the baseboards, dents in the walls, and an old tub and kitchen floor that have not aged very gracefully. We take our commitment to our guests very seriously, and spend hours preparing for each guests visit- ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for you.
We hope that you will love our weird little house as much as we do! ...
