Want to get into the party spirit for the NYC Marathon that’s taking place on November 5? We’ve rounded up some of the top events to get you in the mood, from where to take your pre-race selfies through to partying like a champion:
Dinner Fit For A King
Need to fuel-up before the big day? The New York City Marathon Eve Dinner will be serving up a delicious buffet prepared by chefs from trendy restaurant Tavern on the Green. It’s a fun evening where you can chat with other participants and their families, and fill-up on tasty food ahead of the race. The dinner will take place in Central Park at the NYC Marathon Pavilion on November 4 from 3:30 pm to 8 pm. Tickets are $35 per person. Buy tickets for the New York City Marathon Eve Dinner.
The Marathon Expo is where runners go to take their obligatory pre-race selfie after they collect their bib numbers. The expo is located at the Marathon Pavilion in Central Park. Runners can collect their bib numbers, take selfies and stock up on free goodies such as nutrition bars and shakes. There will be stalls selling running gear, so it’s a great place to stock up on new workout clothes too. The expo takes place on November 2-3 from 10 am – 8 pm and November 4 from 9 am – 5 pm.
The ‘Dash to Finish’ is a 5k race that takes place on November 4, the day before the big race. It’s a great activity for families and friends who aren’t running on the big day but still want to get in on some of the action. The race starts near the United Nations in East Midtown and ends at Central Park. You need to register in advance for the Dash to Finish race. Need a place to crash after working up a sweat? It’s a great opportunity to mingle with champions and other runners. The event takes place on November 3. You can purchase an attendee ticket for $300 and all proceeds go to New York’s Road Runners youth and community programs.
Marathon Opening Ceremony
