This summer’s Sziget Festival 2017 is set to be bigger than ever, with an incredible line-up spread over five days on an island in the middle of Budapest, Hungary. Festival-goers will enjoy top music acts, from Wiz Khalifa to Pink, as well as a range of awesome summer activities.

Why not make a proper trip out of it? Budapest is one of Europe’s gems. The city is a fusion of East and West, with stunning gothic architecture and a beautiful historic center. Budapest is known for over 100 natural hot springs, so you can relax in one of the city’s many Turkish baths during the day and party all evening at the festival.

The festival is located on Obudda Island in Budapest, Hungary. The island is to the north of the city center, on the Danube river and is easily accessible by public transport or taxi from the city center.

Getting to Sziget

Budapest’s main airport is about a thirty-minute drive from the city center. You can take a bus between the airport and center for just over $1.

A five-day pass for the festival costs $299 and a seven-day pass $320. Purchase tickets online.

What to Bring to Sziget Festival

  • Clothes for rain or shine – even in August, the weather in Europe can be unpredictable
  • Camping gear if you are camping
  • Spare toilet paper – in case the toilets are running empty
  • Flashlight
  • Blanket to sit on during the day

Sziget Festival Pro-Tips

If camping isn’t your thing, make the most of the city’s incredible nightlife and pick a place to stay in the city center to make sure you’re near the best bars and clubs.
Arrange a place to meet friends in case you lose each other and have no phone signal or battery.
It can get hot in Budapest – make sure you bring a refillable water bottle to the festival to ensure you stay hydrated.
