'Marri view' peaceful on 5 acres
- Pets Allowed
The weekender has been crafted largely from salvaged, recycled and reused materials to create a sustainable residence. We have used solar passive design principles to enable the shed to capture the warm northern sun in winter and block out the harsh sunshine in the summer months. We have a rainwater tank for all our H2O needs and 16 solar panels for electricity.
With recycled marri benchtops, Moroccan tiles and all windows overlooking the valley, the kitchen is a very relaxing place to spend time. As is the lounge room, next to the fireplace to watch a dvd.
The main bedroom sleeping area is open plan, with gorgeous curtains to pull across for privacy, and beautiful views over the valley from the queen bed.
On the other side of the mezzanine is a second queen size bed (daybed by day), also with curtain partitions
The downstairs bedroom has plenty of space next to the queen bed for a cot should you need one. The room is well insulated making it quiet and blockout curtains make it perfect for little ones and bubs.
There are also two single bunk beds tucked under the stairs, great for two little people
Downstairs you will find a beautiful rustic bathroom complete with genuine 1960's claw foot bath. Great for a soak after a long day exploring the bibbulman track! There is a separate WC
The kids (and dogs!) will love having 5acres to run around on, and we also have a fully fenced yard to give you piece of mind. There is even some play equipment for smaller children, including a swing and a slide
A picnic under the awe inspiring canopy of the huge old Marri (hundreds of years old!) is a must. You will understand why the property was named after the tree!
Full access within living areas, other than lockable cupboard and workshop area which is for private use
We kindly ask that children do not access the upstairs mezzanine or stairs, for safety reasons.
Interaction with Guests
We don't currently live in Bridgetown (but in another SW town), however we have a local caretaker available should you require assistance.
What we love most- The peace & tranquility of the area and the close proximity to the centre of town and the amazing walks (you can even walk the 2kms to town if you are feeling energetic! Get ready for some hills though!)
Unlike so many South West towns, Bridgetown has managed to keep its' friendly, small town feel.
Its also so close to the towns of Nannup, Balingup, Donnybrook, Boyup Brook and Manjimup. Even Pemberton is a mere 67kms away and Bunbury 90kms, and Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River also accessible, so going for a peaceful drive on a wintery day is a great option.
Unfortunately there is no public transport, however there is a local taxi service and it is a short distance (2km approx) from town
Other Things to Note
The weekender is an amazing space and very unique labour of love, that said, some elements are quite rustic and we have priced accordingly.
Not suitable for parties or events- our neighbours are lovely but bought in this part of Bridgetown for the peace and quiet like we did :)
