The Space Solitude Mountain Resort is a smaller resort with some big skiing. One of the top skiing resorts in Utah, but less crowded than the bigger name resorts. Solitude is a 'locals' type mountain, known for fantastic snow and short lift lines. It is one of the sites for the upcoming 2019 FIS Freestyle, Snowboarding and Freeski World Championships. This will be the largest winter sports event in Utah since the 2002 Olympics.
This comfortable condo is located on the third floor of the Powderhorn Lodge, in the Euro-style village at Solitude Resort. It is beautifully appointed for your relaxing vacation, with upgraded kitchen, craftsman style furniture, 2 flat screen HD tvs. Free Direct TV and wifi are included. This unit enjoys bright morning sunshine to enjoy your breakfast or coffee.
This unit comfortably sleeps 4-6 people. With 6 adults, it will feel crowded, but is perfect for a family. It is the largest 1bed/den layout at 880 sq. ft. The bedroom has a king sized bed, the den sports two twin beds, while the living room area couch pulls out into a queen bed. There are lots of blankets and pillows to make everyone happy. The pillows range from soft, medium, to firm. Guest Access While relaxing in the condo, there is Direct TV and wifi included, as well as a cozy gas fireplace to warm up with. Powderhorn Lodge has it's own lounge area, hot tub, as well as a free laundry rooms (2nd and 5th floors). Guests are welcome to use Club Solitude with it's heated pool, two hot tubs, media room, computer bank, video game consoles, billiards, locker rooms, and sauna. There is also a convenient locker room to store your skis and equipment right off the Powderhorn lounge area. There is free underground parking and an elevator up to this 3rd floor condo. Interaction with Guests We are usually in Salt Lake City, a 1/2 hour away down the canyon, so we can help with any problems that might occur. Of course, you are always welcome to call or text with any questions that might come up. We want to make your stay as easy as possible! The Neighborhood Solitude Resort is located 12 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon, and is about 1/2 an hour away from Salt Lake City (45 minutes to Salt Lake International Airport). There are shuttles you can book online to catch a ride from the airport to the resort. The canyon is incredibly beautiful all seasons of the year, with rugged steep rock walls, and covered in aspen and conifer trees. As you drive up you will be next to Big Cottonwood Creek as it rushes down the steep canyon. Solitude is located about 5 minutes from Brighton Ski Resort, and about 35-40 minutes to Snowbird and Alta resorts, making it convenient to enjoy different world-class resorts close by. Solitude offers shuttles to Brighton Ski Resort, making it easy to enjoy skiing at both resorts. Other Things to Note *Important! While Solitude has a small store to purchase forgotten items, it is more convenient to stop at the grocery store before coming up the canyon! Within two miles from the mouth of the canyon, there is a Dan's Grocery Store, Whole Foods, and a Trader Joe's, as well as many restaurants in the Cottonwoods Heights area. It is about 15-20 minutes to drive from the mouth of the canyon to Solitude, good to know! When you get to the mouth of the canyon, you can head West (away from the mountains) on Ft. Union Blvd. to access this shopping area. ...
