aviary Interaction with Guests Please call or text me at least 10 minutes before you arrive as I may be in the large garden. Ring the doorbell when you arrive and if no answer walk in and call for me. Harmony is at the end of the hallway and has a sign on the door. We live up-stairs and more than likely will be home during your stay. The Neighborhood Live Oak is an unincorporated mid county area situated between the cities of Santa Cruz and Capitola extending from Pleasure Point at the coast to the village of Soquel! Our home is a 5 minute bike ride from the beach and close to the surfing mecca of famed Pleasure Point breaks and the Yacht Harbor. Close by is the upper yacht harbor entrance to the new bike/bridge path across Arana Gulch that is both scenic and fun.
Santa Cruz is a unique and special place that can revive your spirit quickly, especially here on this beautiful Santa Cruz property! Getting Around There is a public transit stop two blocks away. Generally, parking is available in half of our driveway or safe street parking is close by.

We have 2 cats and a small Boston Bull Terrier . We are dog friendly and expect dog owners arriving with pets to be responsible to our property and respectful of other guest privacy and keep dogs on a leash unless they are in the yard with them. Dog park walking distance from house and dog friendly restaurants on restaurant list. We charge a pet fee of $15.00 per your visit ( not per day )

We happily allow well-behaved dogs. However, you must keep them on a leash and take them with you when you go out so they do not bother other guests with barking or whining in missing you. They cannot get on the bed. We also require a $15.00 cleaning fee because of the dog hair and extra cleaning after you leave. If you are bringing a dog we will send you a good list of dog friendly restaurants and dog parks. We have one right down the street

A PETIT breakfasts if you request before you arrive. It will be available until 9:30 AM. It will be Pete’s famous coffee cake, banana bread or something sweet. Coffee i and cream will be on the dining room table plus the New York Times. Tea in pantry. We have many breakfast places nearby that we list on the restaurant page we send that have full breakfasts. Water conservation: We are on a 20% water restriction due to the severe drought. We have a water wise showerhead that I will show you and 5 minutes timer from the water board. This is just a suggestion. We know you are guests.
Fresh extra towels in large walk in closet in bedroom. Leave dirty towels in red bag in closet
Toiletries in cabinet of bathroom, in case you forgot yours.
Labyrinth- we put in labyrinth to replace a large lawn in the back garden because of the severe drought in California and stringent water restrictions. Feel free to walk it, mediate or just view. It is lit at night by 30 small solar lights that surround it so you have a bottle of wine, walk or watch the labyrinth and the stars and hear the ocean when it gets quiet as we are near. Fell free to sit in the sun or shade in any part of the yard, drink wine and get take out food and have dinner outside. There is a heat lamp.
Use in evening if you wish. Ask ahead for safety directions. Fun for watching stars having wine or favorite beverage, watching solar lighted circle of the labyrinth. Toast marshmallows if you wish to being
