The Space Our cozy, charming and private daylight basement apartment is the perfect escape from the urban hustle and bustle. Tucked away on 2.5 acres the apartment has a full kitchen, living room, large bedroom with TV and DVD player and should have all you need to live comfortably during your stay. From a covered deck and grassy patio area the chickens and ducks will greet you, and provide fresh eggs daily in a variety of colors. Have a taste of our own delicious local honey, and some fresh veggies (seasonal) from the farm to complement the eggs. Enjoy the warm afternoon sunlight as the apartment faces SW. Langley is just 8 miles away with charming shops and restaurants.
Incredible sunsets and beach walks just 3 miles away at Maxwelton Beach. Head north 15 miles for clamming, shell and rock collecting, and an off leash dog park at sandy Double Bluff Beach.
Whidbey has parks and hiking trails scattered about with the most popular being South Whidbey Community Park (7 miles away), Deception Pass State Park (1 hour drive) in Oak Harbor and Ebey's Landing (40 min drive) in Coupeville.
Farmers markets are within a 10 min drive, every Sat South Whidbey Tilth is open 11-2pm (starting May 3) and Bayview Farmers Market on Sundays from 10-2pm (starting April 25)
Laundry Access available for $10 Interaction with Guests Most of the time, if we aren't out adventuring, we'll be here to greet you and show the space. We love meeting our guests, and will welcome open communication to answer any questions or concerns, but also recognize that some of our guests prefer total privacy. If we are around we usually spend the weekends in our art studio or working on the farm, so we might see one another in passing. The Neighborhood The home is surrounded by lush green trees, with birds chirping, an occasional gobble from the turkeys and a few quacks from the ducks. The neighborhood is spacious and quiet; a short walk away will lead you to pastures of horses and Texas longhorn cattle. Getting Around Free Island Transit, at bottom of driveway, weekdays.
If you are arriving by airplane there is a direct Whidbey-SeaTac Shuttle, we are about 50 miles north of SeaTac Airport. If you are renting a car be aware the Clinton/Mukilteo ferry is required to get to Whidbey Island. Other Things to Note We do live upstairs, and we have opened up our home because we enjoy meeting unique, creative, and flexible travelers. We try to stay light on our feet while guests are below, but you might hear some pitter patter from our dogs (who didn't get the memo we have guests). ...
