French doors lead onto the lovely large garden, which an extensive lawn, flowerbeds and a patio with patio furniture for guests to use and views over Marksbury village.
The sitting room and dining area has an attractive stone mullion window overlooking the front garden and a large inglenook fireplace. An initial supply of fuel for the fire is included in the rental price. There is a large, comfortable sofa and chairs and oak dining table and chairs. The television is a 42 inch flat screen and there is also a DVD player, iPod docking station and free wireless internet access.
Stairs lead to the first floor, where a large double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, WC and washbasin. The double bed has an antique-style metal frame and a high quality pocket-sprung mattress. The second double bedroom, smaller than the first, also has a metal-framed double bed with pocket-sprung mattress, stone mullion window and its own en-suite shower room. A good quality put-you-up bed can be provided to accommodate an extra guest/child in the first bedroom, and a travel cot is also available. If these are required there is a small one-off charge for their use. There is ample parking on the large driveway.
The standard of furniture, furnishings, carpets, equipment, bedlinen and towels throughout this property is high, which gives a luxurious feel throughout.
The property is ideally situated for visiting Bath, Bristol, Wells and the many other attractions the West Country offers. Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and the Cotswolds are all within easy reach and the area is excellent for walkers and cyclists, with many interesting footpaths and cycle routes. Marksbury is a village 5 miles from the outskirts of Bath and 4 miles from Keynsham, situated on the A39 where it meets the A368. It has an interesting church, believed to be late 12th century in origin.
It is only a 10-15 minute drive to the centre of Bath, and there are nearby Park & Ride bus services to Bath and Bristol. The Farmhouse Wing is a 10-minute drive from the Michelin-starred Pony and Trap at Chew Magna and a mile away from the acclaimed Pig at Bath. There are several pubs a short drive away, serving great food and a convenient small supermarket and petrol station a couple of minutes' drive away. Facilities for golf, swimming, fishing, spa days, paintballing, quadbiking and horseriding are all nearby, plus the considerable shopping and cultural opportunities Bath and Bristol offer.
