I am always only a text or phone call away, and will be happy to help with any questions. We have lived in the area for a long time and love the city. Whether you want hear live music, check out the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, or hop on the "L" train and go downtown, I can offer suggestions. If you'd just like a quiet stay, then this is the place for you, as the apartment is all yours. It would be our pleasure to suggest sites to see in Chicago and the neighboring suburbs. The Neighborhood
The location is in a wonderfully quiet residential neighborhood just a short walking distance to public transportation.
The neighborhood is a suburb of Chicago called Forest Park, near quaint eateries and shops, including a one of a kind sleuth bookstore, an archery store, and antique shops to round out the daytime experience. In the evening, head to downtown Chicago, or mingle with neighborhood folks as you watch sporting events at local bars, or experience micro-beers accompanied by outstanding food.Getting Around
O'Hare and Midway airports are accessible by the "L" train. The CTA Blue Line provides 24-hour rapid transit train service between Chicago-O'Hare International Airport and the Forest Park terminal, via downtown Chicago (CTA website). You do not need to drive. It is also a short train ride away to downtown Chicago -- where you can see the city sights, catch a world class play or musical, shop the Magnificent Mile, or enjoy the great restaurants. If you drive, the expressway is less than a mile away. There is limited street parking available, but no overnight free parking.Other Things to Note
A continental breakfast is provided that includes fresh fruit, juice, cold or hot cereal and muffins or donuts. We also provide an assortment of teas, coffees and hot chocolate, along with sweetener and creamer, in your suite.
A terrific steak house (reservations are not required but suggested) and a Mega Walmart that has extended hours are less than a mile away, either by car or walking. Downtown Forest Park is about 4 blocks away in the other direction, and has terrific shops to browse and get a feel for authentic small town Americana. The "L" train to downtown Chicago runs 24 hours a day, is really close, and does not require a transfer.
For 5 to 6 guests we also provide a tall and sturdy air mattress.
Let me know what you're interested in exploring and I will be more than happy to offer suggestions.
