The Space This is 1 of 3 rooms available. If you wish to book all 3 rooms for a large group, arrangements can be made.
No minimum nights required except for Gator football home game weekends and Fest weekend. Guest rooms for the last weekend of every October are reserved exclusively for Fest attendees. Please - only Fest attendees for these dates.
This room is priced slightly higher than my other 2 listings because of the size of this room and the extra amenities. This room is studio-sized and has a living area with a couch, coffee tables and TV, which has Netflix on it. This guest room offers a great deal more privacy as it is located off the back of the garage and is isolated from the rest of the house. This room has a set of French doors that leads out to the backyard with a view of the woods. Please note that there is no restroom in this room. You must enter the house through the garage to use the restroom and shower. For some, this may be an important factor to consider.
Very clean, updated, centrally located house. Reviews for the specific room you are considering are attached to that particular listing. To see all reviews (for all the rooms), you can see them in their entirety on my overall profile. Simply click the picture of me on my profile.
Two dogs reside here along with my boyfriend (Jerry) and me. This is a dog-friendly home and your well-behaved dog is also welcome as long as he or she is friendly and clean and does not typically bark inappropriately.
Guest rooms have a queen size mattress and nice guest towels for your use. A 3rd or 4th person may be added to your room if you desire. If you decide to add a 3rd or 4th guest to your bedroom, there is a $15 additional charge per night, per additional guest. I will provide a twin or queen size air mattress (your choice) along with comfortable sheets and comforter for them to use.
You will have access to a very clean, shared bathroom. You are welcome to use the kitchen and prepare whatever meals you desire. You are also most welcome to enjoy the dining and living areas. The living room has basic cable and Netflix (Roku stick) on the TV. You can watch an almost endless supply of free movies and Netflix-original shows. High speed wifi internet offered.
Our neighborhood is quiet, clean and friendly. Lots of trees! In fact, this house is in the back of the neighborhood against the woods which is a nature park and has walking trails. Large and beautiful fenced-in back yard.
If you find that that this room has no availability for the dates you need, please try one of my other listings. The link for the 2nd listing is https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4967704. The link for the 3rd listing is https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4967614.
If you need to make arrangements to accommodate a large number of people, I can work with you as this is a very large house that has multiple potential sleeping areas. There are 3 bedrooms available for your use and 2 air mattresses that can be provided. For an extremely large group, we can discuss using areas, such as the Florida Room, as additional sleeping areas. The Florida Room is very spacious and has a TV in it. Use of the 4th bedroom (the master bedroom) is negotiable.
I suggest using Uber or Lyft for all your transportation needs. I am an Uber driver as well as a Lyft driver and am happy to arrange transportation for you. The Uber app is easy to download on your phone. New Uber users get $15 off your first ride with promo code tyh72
You will be treated with the upmost of respect and courtesy during your stay. I have 3 simple requests.....Please be friendly. Please be generally clean out of respect for other guests who may be using the areas that you are also using. And please close doors (front door, bathroom door and bedroom doors) quietly out of respect for other guests. Guest Access You are most welcome to make use of the living room, dining room and kitchen. Mi casa, su casa! Getting Around Because busses are so slow and take a long time to navigate, I always recommend Lyft. Of course, there's Uber too. I'm not a big fan of Uber so I always recommend Lyft first. I drive for both. It's kinda fun driving for Lyft and Uber except the time I had a paying rider in my car and two deer ran out in front of my car. Hit one of them dead on crushing the front of my car.
If you're scared of running into deer, there is a bus stop on each side of the road right at the entrance of our neighborhood. Two buses run by our neighborhood.
One of the buses runs east and west through Gainesville....starting in downtown and heading west along University Avenue (also called Newberry Road) out to the mall (Oaks Mall) and Interstate 75. Along this route, this bus passes downtown, mid-town (student eating and partying area), UF campus, Gators' football stadium, North Florida Regional Medical Center, Oaks Mall and Interstate 75.
The other bus generally runs the length of Gainesville starting at UF/Shands Hospital and heading northwest until it reaches Santa Fe College. This bus also runs along University Avenue (also called Newberry Road) passing mid-town, UF campus and the Gators' football stadium. This bus does not go as far out as the mall because it takes a turn at 43rd Street and heads north passing Thornebrook shopping and dining area all the way up and over to Santa Fe College.
Rental cars are, of course, available including Zipcar. I have one men's bike available for use. I will provide you with a u-lock but you are ultimately responsible for its safe return if you use it. No charge for use of the bike but it is subject to availability. There are bike rental stores in Gainesville.
