Dining room has marble-topped dining table that seats eight with gorgeous panoramic mountain views. Can be used for desk work during the day. Industrial washer/dryer included. Thirty-acre grounds includes enclosed fireplace and full-length, wraparound covered porch that faces a beautiful, front-yard pond and walking bridge. Landscaped garden areas and orchard, with private, manicured paths through the woods groomed for running, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing leading to an Adirondack Trailhead. Guest Access All utilities, including high-speed, satellite Wi-Fi and heat are included. Plenty of parking. Towels, sheets and bedding are included. You will need a reliable vehicle to get back and forth from town. If there is snow, snow tires or four-wheel drive are recommended. Interaction with Guests Greater living space is generally shared with 2 quiet, grad-school roommates: male grad student in single room on first floor and female grad student in one of the bedroom upstairs (in December the male will move out and a young woman chef will be the other roommate). The house is quiet during the day and lively at night, with some interaction and cooking but always early bedtimes. The Neighborhood Completely private: top of a mountain at the end of a private road. Discover the 200 year old two-lane 'road' back in the woods lined with incredible stone walls.
Home is 5-10 miles away from: Dartmouth College, DHMC medical center, downtown White River Junction, Norwich town center, Hanover (fine-dining restaurants, local, organic co-ops, 2 breweries). 15-20 miles away: Woodstock, Sunapee and Dartmouth skiing. 25 miles+ away: Montpelier, Killington, Mad River Glen, Mount Snow skiing. You’ll love the place because of the coziness, the views, and the location. Getting Around You will need a reliable vehicle to get back and forth from town. If there is snow, snow tires or four-wheel drive are recommended. The free Upper Valley shuttle has a stop in the center of Norwich, 10 minutes away from the house. Dartmouth Coach bus and/or Amtrak train arrives directly from New York and Boston into WRJ and Hanover.
King Arthur flour cafe and bakery headquarters are 10 minutes away. 15 minutes away: 4 local co-ops. Great restaurants in Hanover and Norwich include Hanover Inn's Pine, Carpenter & Main, and the Norwich Inn. Other Things to Note Absolutely no smoking indoors.
