We’re really right in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, in a neighborhood that is still legendary and very much alive with its numerous cafés, restaurants and boutiques. You have tons of shops around you and it’s easy to get around Paris thanks to the many bus and metro line stops nearby. An ideal and extremely comfortable pied-a-terre.
This fifth floor apartment (no elevator), located in a high-class building, was recently renovated. You enter through the living room, an airy, luminous space, nicely furnished and decorated, with golden pine floors and with a sitting and dining area. The living room opens on to a corridor with a new, well equipped semi-open kitchen to the left.
On the other side of the corridor, you’ll find a double room with a queen-size bed.
Across from it, there’s a bathroom with a washbasin, shower, washing machine and dryer.
Household linen, kitchen and bath towels are provided. The beds will be made up just before your arrival. A weekly cleaning service is included in the rental, as is a complete house cleaning upon departure. You’ll also have some surprises in store to welcome you: you’ll find toiletries in the bathroom and a little gourmet gift basket in the kitchen. The Neighborhood
This apartment is located in the center of “Saint-Germain-des-Pres”, the historic, cultural and literary heart of Paris. Saint-Germain-des-Pres is a “small village”, historically nestled around the eponym abbey.
Definitely the perfect area to have dinner or enjoy a drink at a terrace and understand why Parisians love terraces so much despite of the weather. There’s nothing better than contemplating the surrounding beauty at a sidewalk cafe like “Les Deux Magots” or the “Cafe de Flore”! The number of great bars, cafes and restaurants is substantial, so you’ll need more than one trip to try them all!
This lively neighborhood is also a perfect place for shopping with a lot of luxury brands but also smaller French boutiques and the first department store ever, the world-famous: Le Bon Marche.
If you choose to walk towards Notre-Dame Cathedral (about 20minutes by walk), you’ll discover the lovely areas of “Odeon”, a pleasant and more cosmopolitan neighborhood, and Saint-Michel, frequented by tourists and local students. Along the way, you’ll discover some interesting surprises, including historical buildings, shops and many great gourmet addresses.
Centuries have passed but the charm of Saint-Germain-des-Pres remains ! Become a true “germano-pratin” (name given to the inhabitants of the area) for the duration of your stay!
