Big, airy top-floor Manhattan apt!
My apartment is a great bargain in America's greatest but most expensive city, and I'm glad to help you skip unreasonable hotel fees and greatly add to your Manhattan visit. I've been a member of the Airbnb community for years as a guest, and I've recently joined it as a host. I look forward to having you as my first guest. It's on the top floor of a seven-story elevator building, with abundant light and an ample view. There's a big table in the living room and a nice space to work, eat or relax after a day trekking about the city. There's high ceilings and, again, no one above you. The bedroom features a Westin Heavenly Bed, and extra droors for your storage. You'll have more room in my apartment than almost anywhere in New York. The couch folds out into a simple bed, and I also have an inflatable mattress for a third guest. A family of four could also comfortably reside in this space. There is no smoking in my apartment or building. PLEASE NOTE: I typically book guests about a month in advance ONLY as my work travel calendar becomes clear. I cannot book inquiries made more than six weeks in advance. ALSO: You must be a verified user, with priority given to those reviewed favorably by other hosts. Thanks!Guest Access
I have high-speed wireless throughout the apartment... excellent water pressure and instant hot water... a full kitchen with oven, coffee maker and bean grinder, and small breakfast table... a dining table for four guests... and an office alcove with basic supplies.Interaction with Guests
I am a writer/producer who often works out of state on projects for weeks at a time. We may overlap as I leave; if not, I'll be mailing you a key to the building, and you'll access my apartment via a lockbox outside the door. My apartment is extremely simple and straightforward, but in the event you need me, I'm available almost constantly via phone and email, and have friends and neighbors who can help you should any issue arise. The Neighborhood
Inwood is a fantastic, highly authentic New York neighborhood that is yet to be discovered even by some of the city's residents. It's both of Manhattan yet apart from it — quieter and less dense, yet connected to everything that makes NYC great.Getting Around
My apartment is very close to the A Train. Harlem is approximately 15 minutes away; Central Park about 20; Midtown about 30. The 1 Train is also in the neighborhood. Livery cabs are an Inwood mainstay; a ride to Midtown will probably cost about $25, depending on time of day. Also, for drivers, the West Side Highway is just on the other side of Inwood Hill Park, and getting to the neighborhood from LaGuardia is especially easy.
