Three Trees Camp LLC is located on an 8 acre secluded parcel on Upper Saranac Lake. It is at the end of a three mile shared driveway with the closest house 1/2 mile away and is surrounded almost 300 degrees by water, having over 2000 ft. frontage on the lake (Markham Point) with a large sandy swimming area suitable for young children as well as adults. Several docks provide seating for easy conversation, listening to the loons, watching a pair of nesting bald eagles or sunrise and sunset viewing. It is an ideal getaway for an extended family or large group. This is the first time several weeks has become available as other rental periods have been rented by the same families for over 20 years. The property has five separate sleeping cabins, a main house and annex with bedrooms, a kitchen and family room building, a utility building, a recreational cabin with bar and an enclosed boathouse among first growth towering pine trees surrounding the property. There are beds for 26 people (see listing below) some with shared baths. The general atmosphere of the camp is rustic, cozy and inviting. It is simple yet offers all the conveniences of daily vacation living. Since the buildings are mostly all separate, families may enjoy their own space without noise and intrusions. The camp’s unique charm is the quiet it offers while surrounded by nature yet the ability and easy access to outdoors recreation. Visitors can relax or exercise or socialize—it is all here. The camp offers an unfettered access to nature and is ideal for multi-generational family gatherings, offering the possibility of kids going to bed early and adults to stay up later. Upper Saranac Lake is an ideal fishing impound with several record breaking lake trout and bass caught over the years. The camp is located in the heart of the Adirondack wilderness with hundreds of hiking trails and mountain climbs only minutes away. Lake Placid is 35 minutes away and has many summer events and the 'best shopping area' in northern New York. MEALS Guests provide their own meals. Full size kitchen with gas range/oven, separate convection oven, 2 refrigerators, freezer, microwave, counter-top oven, commercial coffee maker, blenders and all utensils and dishware. There are plates and utensils for over 30 people. The kitchen table will seat 10. The dinner meal is usually eaten on the covered front porch of the Main House. There is a garbage pick-up scheduled once a week. A gas cooking grill is on the porch off the ping pong room/kitchen building. There are several good grocery stores in both Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. AMENITIES Amenities include a competition sized clay tennis court, a lighted horseshoe pit, several kayaks and canoes, outdoor fire pit with seating, a recreation cabin with bar and futon for additional sleeping and an Adirondack style lean-to for overflow guests. There are Adirondack style chairs scattered throughout the property. A full size ping pong table is in a room attached to the kitchen area. The camp is located at the end of a three mile dirt driveway which provides total privacy and solitude. There are no neighbors within vision or hearing. The driveway is ideal for walking and biking, leading out to a paved back road which heads into the Town of Saranac Lake. Every cabin is stocked with fiction books and magazines of interest to the area. ENTERTAINMENT There are several radios on the property. There is no wi-fi service. For the most part you provide your own entertainment. There is a game closet chock full of family games and jigsaw puzzles. Other audio/visual entertainment must be provided with satellite smart devices. This has been done on purpose as we promote a family atmosphere. The towns of Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and Lake Placid are all filled with restaurants, theaters, shopping, and entertainment. We highly recommend a trip to The Wild Center in Tupper Lake as well as The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. For more information, go to the local Chamber of Commerce sites in those towns. There are several golf courses in the area including the Saranac Inn Golf Course across the lake. LAUNDRY/ BEDDING A washer and dryer are provided in the laundry room. Bed linens and towels are not provided. You may bring your own or rent them - information supplied upon request. GENERAL Heating - the only building/room with heat is the Main House Living Room and the kitchen. There is a fireplace that may be used with caution - no fire protection readily available. There is a propane Renai space heater here as well. The wood burning stove in the kitchen may not be used. Telephone - There is a land line but it may only be used for emergencies. You need to bring your own cell phones. Any charges will be deducted from security deposit. OUTDOORS There are two exposures to the lake—the South side has a wooden dock for sitting and a ramp for water access. The area has a shallow sandy bottom extending for the length of the bay. There is a buoy marked area to prevent motor boats from approaching on this side. A raft is anchored within easy distance from shore. There is a sand box and seating area as well, allowing this area to be ideal for youngsters and babies. The prevailing sun is on this side. The North side has the boat house and canoe/kayak storage. The water is deeper here yet is still shallow along the shore. The dock area is ideal for reading quietly or swimming in the protected bay. There is another floating raft on the north side within swimming distance of the dock. In addition to the two sitting docks there is a deck overlooking the lake off of the Kitchen building. The front porch, also overlooking the lake, is the main gathering area with plenty of seating and two bench swings that are always in high demand. There is no poison ivy in the Adirondacks which makes hiking in the woods more enjoyable. There are also no signs of ticks so that dogs are safe to wander as well. Hiking and climbing is a major attraction in the Adirondacks with countless peaks and trails to choose from. Upper Saranac Lake is a fairly protected body of water with many bays and shallows, thereby making canoeing and kayaking safe and accessible. Again, there are countless ponds and waterways within easy distance. Guide books on hiking and canoeing/kayaking are stored in the Main House and various bedrooms. There are life vests available along with tubes and other water toys. Several kayaks and canoes are provided. If a power boat rental is wanted or if a renter has their own boat, there is a boat launch across the lake. There are numerous boat rental outlets in the area. Water skis are stored in the boat house. TRANSPORTATION The Adirondack Regional Airport is 20 minutes away. Cape Air is the major airline.
