Pristine Family Getaway on Upper Bottle Lake
Historic, fully restored cabin located on the secluded northern shores of Upper Bottle Lake. This beautiful two-bedroom cabin, part of Bud Wambolt's historic homestead, includes: one full-size trundle bed, futon, 2 twin bunk beds, full bath, kitchenette, mini fridge, two burner stove top, microwave, and basic kitchen supplies. Showers and additional bathrooms are located in the shower house.
Wambolt’s Camp is a truly unique and special place with 15 historic log cabins nestled within the majestic Red Pines, only 30 feet from the lake shores. It is a quaint resort rich in history, having been homesteaded in 1899 by Bud Wambolt. The first guest stayed at the resort in 1901.
One of the 15 cabins is original and was built in 1902. It was spared “modernization” by Bud’s wife, Amelia Wambolt, who didn’t want to see it torn down. The remaining cabins were built between 1921 and 1937.
The camp's secluded location on Upper Bottle Lake, Minnesota is only 20 miles from Itasca State Park, 14 miles from Park Rapids, and 55 miles from Detroit Lakes.
The cabin restorations include updated roofs, windows, porches, log work, and bathrooms. The cabins have new beds, furniture and furnishings.
