Description

The Space

The Bamboo cabin is quaint and peaceful! Many feel like they are in a tree house without climbing a tree. We are completely off-the-grid. We get all of our electricity from the sun with our brand new solar system. All of our water is collected from the rain with a 2 filter system. Our 3 acres are abundant with mature Coconut trees, Papayas, Bananas, Cacao, Mamay Sapote, Lilikoi, Avocados, Rombuton, Breadfruit, Jackfruit, Soursop, Mangostein Etc Etc. A Permaculture Paradise! Depending on our schedule our support team may have breakfast or lunch available for a nominal fee We are 2 miles from the warm springs on the ocean! There are community farmers markets, ocean, surfing, hiking, Black sand beach, Green mountain, beautiful surrounding jungle, and lava beds. We are about 28 mi from Hilo and 8 mi from Pahoa.

The Neighborhood

You can start your day off at the warm springs that are about 2 miles from the property and enjoy snorkeling in the afternoon. One mile away is Green mountain where you can see a large corner of the island from! Although this a very peaceful part of the island there are local art and music events happening throughout the week. Ecstatic dances on Sundays and Thursdays. Many healing events throughout the week. We are 15 miles from the lava flow and can connect you with a local who can guide you in. Of course all depending on the flow and how close it is. This is authentic Hawaii, an area where time has stood still.

Getting Around

It is a remote area. There is a bus stop 1 mile away that goes all around the island for around $2. It's a hitchhiking community if your that type of traveler. If we are going to town and have space it never hurts to ask. Otherwise renting a car would give you the freedom you may want.

The sanctuary is about an 8 second walk. Which is a beautiful space for you to practice yoga, meditation, dancing etc. Our 3 acres are abundant with mature Coconut trees, Papayas, Bananas, Cacao, Mamay Sapote, Lilikoi, Avocados, Rombuton, Breadfruit, Jackfruit, Soursop, Mangostein Etc Etc. Millions of people are using Airbnb to sleep in strangers' homes, beds, and even couches. They have an amazing selection and you can't find their stuff anywhere else. There is a catch: you often need to contact several hosts to actually get a place to stay, so make sure you give yourself some lead time.

Place's rules

Aloha and Welcome to Our Sacred Land(URL HIDDEN) We would love for you to have a comfortable stay while you’re here. So please let us know how we can support that. As we have stated this isn’t the Hilton. Staying here is living close to nature while having most of your comforts like electricity and running water and even internet. We are completely off grid so at times there may be less sun than rain and visa versa. So we practice conservation. It’s amazing when you have some practice at this. You’ll notice your utility bills going down at home. Our Earth is precious and so are her resources! ELECTRICITY AND WATER * Please unplug your devices when you’re not using them *Turn off Lights when you leave a room * Please don't let water run unnecessarily * Best to take showers when the sun has heated the water. Although we have instant propane heated water if needed. INTERNET *We are in the middle of the jungle and we have internet! How cool is that! The only downside is our bandwidth and data usage is somewhat limited. We pay by the gig. We strictly ask that you don’t stream movies or videos. Also please do not download large files. Emails, doing searches and scrolling (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) is fine. We all can use a break from electronics! Give yourself a break. You’re in Hawaii!! KITCHEN *You are welcome to use the kitchen when it’s available. *Please be respectful of others. Please use water conservatively * Wash, Dry and put away all off the dishes and Utensils you use. *You will be given a space in the fridge and a bin to put your name on. *Please do NOT EAT what is NOT yours without asking. We will let you know what is the community food or it will be marked *PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE FOOD/CRUMBS ON THE COUNTERS after you leave the kitchen. It’s an outdoor kitchen and it attracts unwanted guests. ( If the kitchen is not cleaned after you use it, you will lose your deposit) * Please DO NOT PUT PERISHABLES in the trash. There’s a compost container on the counter. MISC *If you have a car you may park inside the gate but we ask that you park in the designated area. Please DRIVE SLOW, especially if it is raining. It tears up our lawn. *You may pick food off the ground under the trees. Please ask before you pick anything off of the trees or eat anything. *Please take the sheets off of your bed and place them on the bed with your towels. Thank you!! * Its possible to have a campfire. Please ask the host first * No Loud Music, No parties * We ask smokers to do it away from the common areas and private spaces. * Quiet time after 10pm No drugs, loud music or unannounced guests. You may smoke away from common areas and buildings. We ask quiet time after 10pm. Total respect for this sacred land and common areas. We ask that you leave the space as you found it in the rental space and common areas. You may want bug spray if your prone to getting bitten. We have some essential oil spray available. Most have few or no bites at all. Although you may be of those sweet people. Its important to have a good flashlight although we do have some available if you forget. That makes for the most incredible star shows ever!!!! No city lights to drown the nighttime sky!
