The Space This chalet has an amazing view over one of the most beautiful lake in the world, lake Atitlan. The sunrises are spectacular even from inside the house. Interaction with Guests Depending of guests. I can be as invisible as you want or I can be playing guide. I am a sociable person, but I do not impose myself. I speak french, english and spanish. The Neighborhood San Pedro La Laguna is an amazing maya village on the shore of lake Atitlan. You can go kayaking, horseback riding, trecking, etc.
The restaurants are cheap and good. About a dozen bar where you can go out at night. Getting Around While in Guatemala, use the "chicken bus". The bus passes right in front of the house and can bring you to the next village or to Guatemala City. Lots of tourist shuttle leave San Pedro every day to other touristic destinations. Tuk-tuk will help you in town. Other Things to Note The 85 steps to access the house are not suitable for drunk people, or people easily afraid of hight.
Be aware that it won't always be quiet. Stray dogs barking and buses honking may disturb your sleep. Not much I can do about that.
The cost of living in San Pedro is cheap. So, think about staying for a while. Price goes down for longer stay.
Arrival: The only way to make sure that the arrival will be done smoothly is to call me when you get to town. It seems that since the rise of new technologies, some people feel incapable of doing a simple phone call anymore. Lots of business will let you use a phone for a Quetzal or two. Leaving message instead of calling might slow down the process of checking-in. (and I can't be accused of not warning the people clearly). I have a motorbike, therefore I can meet with you very quickly. Trying to go the the place and just knock at the door is a waste of time since I don't actually spend my time there. (I manage many houses)
Negative aspects :
I like my guests to understand this is not an hotel. We don't have daily room cleaning service during your stay. We will, once a week, on demand, clean the room, change towels and sheets. More than that, you know where the Landromat is. ;- ) ...
