The Space

ABOUT US The apartment is all about little details that are often overlooked ... you will instantly feel at home, pampered and very welcome. It has its own private entrance and is fully self-contained on the lower level of our country home overlooking the gardens and mountains. The apartment is really spacious and has a great feel, it’s creatively decorated in a stylish yet funky 1970's burnt orange and olive green soft furnishings. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. The large comfy lounge room opens out to the deck and the gorgeous views with a big wide screen TV, DVD player, music system and a record player with some great 1980’s vinyl. The apartment has a new fully equipped kitchen/dining room that also opens out to the patio and private bathroom. All luxury linen is provided and there is also free WiFi, tea, coffee and a continental breakfast included. One undercover garage spot is available (for motorbikes only) and plenty of other outdoor parking available on the property. The apartment also has a private outdoor Jacuzzi where you are literally sitting amongst the bush setting with views of the mountains. It’s a great place to unwind and watch the stunning sunsets. The emblem of The Ridge Retreat is a Double-Barred Finch and when you stay you'll understand why. The Mid-North coast of NSW has a great variety of bird life and in particular the sweet little double-barred finches have taken up residency and can always be found around the bird feeder. Watching the bird life is a delight and incredibly relaxing with up to 37 species visiting the property throughout the year. COOKING/GROCERIES The apartment has a new kitchen with pretty much everything you need to cook a meal including herbs and spices, salt, pepper and olive oil plus a small outdoor portable electric BBQ. HOUSE RULES The accommodation rules are simple and trust that all guests will be respectful and thoughtful while staying in the apartment. • No smoking inside • No children under 12. We are set up as an adult retreat • No pets • No parties or events • SPA is available between 4pm - 8pm • Check-out time is 10am • Check-in time is 3pm – 9pm THINGS TO DO If you like to drink in lots of green rolling hills and mountains the Port Mac Hinterland has the most beautiful national parks and drives in NSW. One of our favourite is up to Ellenborough Falls stopping at the beautiful historic town of Comboyne for a home baked treat then the Byabarra Café Bakehouse on the way back… perfect day!! Of course, there are all the great things to do in Port Macquarie so take a look at the tourism website… often the best things are free and Port Mac Coastal Walk from the lighthouse is a must do! We also have a big wide screen TV with DVD’s… a record player, art (drawing) supplies, dominoes, yoga mat and magazines etc.

Guest Access

Visitors will have full access to the apartment, the garage and anywhere in the grounds except the shed. All other parts of the house (upper level) are private.

We respect our guests privacy but will be available in-person or by phone if help or recommendations are required

The Neighborhood

This is a very quiet and serene place where the loudest noises rarely exceed the sound of birds or insects chirping. Neighbours are all on 3 to 5 acre blocks so there is plenty of room to feel like you are complety secluded and away from all the hustle and bustle of life.

Getting Around

The nearest shops and facilities are a drive away. Wauchope is about 6 minutes by car with a big IGA and most services and Port Macquarie is under 15 minutes.

Millions of people are using Airbnb to sleep in strangers' homes, beds, and even couches. They have an amazing selection and you can't find their stuff anywhere else. There is a catch: you often need to contact several hosts to actually get a place to stay, so make sure you give yourself some lead time.
