The Space There's nothing like waking up with a cup of coffee and seeing the morning wake-up ritual all around the 10 acre property. In the evening, enjoy a glass of wine (a bottle of California wine is provided as our thank you for choosing our home for your stay) and watch the sunset on the covered deck. Because of the acreage, it is very quiet and the closest neighbor is 2 acres away and separated by fields.
The 1000 sq. ft. house finished its remodel in 2009. Although it looks rustic from the outside, the interior has been completely modernized.
We think this house is ideal for 1 to 3 people. Couples may find it challenging as the second bedroom is significantly smaller and has two twin beds (one of which is a trundle bed).
We're avid cooks and the open kitchen/living room make it that much more fun. The kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of pots, pans, and appliances (air popcorn popper, rice maker, slow cooker, juicer, blender, waffle maker, sandwich grill, etc.). We have a drawer filled with a variety of teas for your selection. We also provide ground organic coffee and non-dairy creamer.
Our master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with an ensuite bathroom and the second bedroom has a trundle bed that can pop up to two twin-size beds. The living room couch lays flat to become a Full-size bed.
Bring your yoga mat if you want to stretch out with pastoral views on all sides. There is a sauna, an elliptical machine and hand weights in the sunroom. Please be advised that the use of the exercise equipment is at your own risk.
As we are in a remote node in the countryside, we are limited to a max speed of 6 Mbps. Thank you for your understanding.
Plug your smartphone or iPod to the wireless transmitter that streams your music to two portable Bluetooth enabled speakers that you can play inside the house or carry outside. We also have a wireless music box that you can take with you out on the deck. Alternatively, stream the kind of music you like directly from the Dish Network selection on the TV.
We provide basic cable channels as well as all the HBO movie channels.
There is a DVD and VHS (I know, right?!) player. We provide a selection of DVD movies for you to choose from if you wish.
There is one in each bathroom. Guest Access We are pleased to provide our guests access to 2 Sonoma Passports (a $118 value and good for 4 persons) with a choice of +/- 64 wineries for free or discounted wine tastings nearby. Full details are provided at the house. Interaction with Guests I will be available to check-in guests, do the hand-over and answer any questions. In the event we are not able to meet our guests, we will make sure to communicate all aspects of checking in prior to guest arrival. Our gardener may be on the property for landscaping work and we might drop by to roll out the garbage/recycle if necessary. The Neighborhood We are 55 miles north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, 18 miles from Bodega Bay, the Pacific Ocean seaside set for Alfred Hitchcock’s famed 1948 film, “The Birds”, Laguna Lodge is centrally located within California’s world-renowned wine growing region, Sonoma County.
It is 2.6 miles from downtown Sebastopol or a 5 minute drive with access to a myriad of coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, the Barlow, and many retail shops. The ocean is a 30 minute drive where you can enjoy everything from freshly shucked oysters right where they are grown to some amazing kayaking.
Octob(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) – New York Times, Emily Brady:
“Sonoma County may be best known for its wineries and the tony (sic) towns of Healdsburg and Sonoma, but West County, as locals call the area around Sebastopol, is where the vineyards begin to give way to rolling hills, bohemian enclaves and the wild Pacific Coast beyond. Sure, there’s wine produced here — excellent pinots in particular — but there’s plenty to explore beyond it, especially around Sebastopol, where in recent years new restaurants, shops and live music venues have opened, securing the town’s position as West County’s arts and culture hub.” Getting Around PARKING
There is plenty of parking outside of the house.
FROM THE AIRPORT
1 hour 20 minutes from San Francisco International (SFO) airport. 10 minutes from the Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS), serviced by Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air. If your guests are arriving separately, there is bus transportation from SFO to the North Bay. Please check out (website hidden) for their schedule. Other Things to Note Our home has its own well that provides water for the house. This water is rich in iron and minerals. This means that there will be water stains on glassware. We try and keep things spot-free but sometimes it does get the better of us ;)
Our neighbor has a number of horses next to our property. Please do not feed them. There is an electric fence that separates the properties and it does work! ...
