The Space White Light is character home with the most divine energy on 5 glorious acres, set among the undulating hills of the Wooton Valley. Pets are very welcome, but please observe house rules. It's not 5 star, but it is a million stars at night in the clear country sky, and it is our most favourite place it the world. Tim Laffey's art, impressionist in style hang from the walls, bringing nature inside. Just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Tim Laffey.
There is deliberately no wi-fi (though you can hot-spot) and only a small TV. The home is about getting a break without the distractions of technology - getting back to nature, and enjoying relaxation time. There are plenty of books and games, and wide open spacs, so it is great for families and couples and individuals to just be.
The home is clean, well equipped and heavenly - be prepared for a unique experience...oh and we'll even throw in the linen. Three large bedrooms contain a queen, double and two single beds. Large kitchen and lounge, with expansive views over the valley and lake. Outdoor tables both sides of the house, perfect for a relaxing breakfast. Hammocks for you to use. Just escape the hustle of city life to truly experience how special it is.
We encourage a minimum 2 nights stay - it will feel like double that! Once you are there you won't want to leave. One night is available depending on availability, though we prefer not to rent it for one night on weekends. It is 20 minutes from the highway. Also please be aware during school holidays and public holiday minimum stay requirements are applied.
White Light is just 20 minutes from the iconic Seal Rocks, with Cellito and Treachery surfing beaches, family-friendly Elizabeth beach, 7 mile beac and even Shelly Beach where you can get your gear off, all less than half an hour away.
It easily sleeps 6 and has 3 bedrooms with a queen bed, double and two singles, plus a huge spa bath bathroom and separate toilet, wrap-around verandah, fully equipped kitchen with brand new Blanco cooker, laundry with washing machine, spacious lounge with massive wood burning combustion fire with firewood supplied, outside bbq and table and much more.
Far off the beaten track, on an long unsealed road, with just one neighbour on call if you need anything, White Light is truly private, great for families wanting to just chill and reconnect. There's heaps of books, games and entertainment, and fabulous bushwalks at your door. There's a small telly if you must - but we don't. It's nice to get away from the electrics and computer games. There's deliberately no Wi Fi - but you can dongle if you have one. This home is all about getting back to nature - and enjoying time to just be.
If you don't see a Wallaby while you stay here, your eyes aren't open. We can't guarantee it - but every time we are up there we always see at least one. A walk early morning or dusk are good times to go spotting. King parrots, kookies, the occasional koala, goana, billabys, eagles and a menagerie of aussie locals play all around. There's even chickens in the coup - and fresh eggs if you're nice to them!
White Light has solar power, plus full electrical co backup so there is never any dramas around supply.
Dogs and cats are welcome - but please keep big dogs outside. The property is fenced - but only cattle fencing, as is the country way. There is a dam - in a fenced off paddock, but its not for swimming.
Because of its private setting, and location, its best not to bring toddlers, kids that aren't risk aware or anyone who may need fast medical assistance.
MINIMUM 2 NIGHTS BOOKING PREFERRED - Guest Access Guests are welcome to use all facilities, including all games and books. The house is yours to enjoy. Don't forget to bring your food with you as the nearest shop is in Bugwahl - 15 minutes away. The pantry is stocked with basics, in case you need a bit of this and that. Please keep dogs outside, only small dogs and cats (without sharp claws) are allowed inside so we can protect the newly laid floorboards, and paint. Please also remove high heels before entering. (Especially the men!)
It is best to arrive during daylight hours to make it easier for you to find. If you bring small pets inside please keep them off the furniture, and please sweep up any hair. Interaction with Guests This is our holiday home too - we live in Sydney. So if you're staying there, we're not. Its all yours. However, we have very helpful neighbours to help if you need anything. Other than that you are surrounded by properties of 100 acres and more. Jenny and David in the brick house, Klaya and Blake on the right. If you need anything just ask. The Neighborhood This really is a unique and spiritually uplifting part of Australia. Our yoga friends love it as it has a certain calm and sense of spirit. The farms and lush greenery surrounding our place, the bush-walks right on the door, the tranquil Smiths Lakes and the plethora of world class beaches just 20 minutes away make this an amazing get-way. Its a great place to base yourself for family and friends fun. Just bring your pushbikes, your fishing gear and kayaks for the lakes and your swimmers for the beach - and you're off! Getting Around You will need a car/motorbike/van - or wheels of some sort to get here. But not a pushbike- unless you're super fit, super mad or both! The road leading up to our place is unsealed, but you won't need a 4WD - just take your time. It is about 20 minutes from the highway, so if you are on a road trip to a to b and in a hurry our house is probably not your best option. Forster is about 40 minutes away, Smiths Lakes and Seal Rocks about 20 minutes, and the closest local hub is Bulledulah. Its less than 3 hours from Sydney - or if you're coming in from Newcastle airport its about 1 1/2 hours drive.
If you book, please follow my email instructions following your booking to get there. It's important to do this as your sat nav will take you the wrong way.
To get there, from Sydney, get on the pacific highway - F3 and head past newcastle, towards Brisbane.
Go over the Hexam overpass - just keep on the pacific highway...til you go past bulladelah turn off (new) then about 2 kms past is a turning to the left to Wootton/topi topi.... this is where you will find us. Other Things to Note Please be aware this is the country - so be country wise. Please wear shoes outside. Please put all games away after use. In the winter there is a wood fire, if you use it close the vent (to the left) until the heat gets up, then when hot for a slow burn, close to the right. Do not leave the door open as it will set off the fire alarm.
Its a great property for water bomb fights!! but if you do please pick up all balloons afterwards.
