The Space Welcome to Frontierville, a lovingly restored homestead cabin originally built in the 50s by Italian-American artist Pasquale Napolitano.
(RETURNING VISITORS, UPGRADES FYI - we replaced the fridge with a quieter unit, put dimmer switches on the lights and got a better-sounding stereo.)
Leave the city behind and discover the wonders of the high desert down a one-lane dirt road. Experience the majestic wilderness of unspoiled Mojave landscapes in historic Pioneertown, where “the mountains meet the sky” according to the old cowboy classic, “Out in Pioneertown.” Situated between Joshua Tree and the peaks of Big Bear, Pioneertown features pine trees, mountain oaks, junipers and bristling cacti as well as the region’s unique signature tree. Because of the higher elevation, temperatures are generally cooler than Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, with the occasional winter snowfall.
Come for a midweek rock show at Pappy’s and avoid the long drive home, take a romantic weekend escape or treat yourself to that much-needed week alone to work on your screenplay. Bring hiking boots a hat and binoculars and you’ll likely spot a red tail hawk or a quail family poking around, cottontails and jack rabbits, and maybe a bobcat if you’re lucky. Or just brew up a cup of coffee, relax on the porch and enjoy the unobstructed panoramic view, the brilliant sunrise, the golden silence, and more stars than you can possibly imagine.

Our pricing is driven by both the number of guests and the number of bedrooms used. It is therefore important that your reservation reflect the number of people in your party AND the number of beds those people will require. Airbnb’s system assumes two people per bedroom, so if you require additional bedrooms please adjust the number of people in your party to reflect the correct number of bedrooms (e.g. a party of two wanting two bedrooms would need to book for three people).
When you arrive at the property, you will have access to the number of bedrooms based on this formula. Other bedrooms will be locked (this reduces wear and tear and cleaning and allows us to more attractively price the property for your particular group). The Neighborhood With gorgeous views of the park’s tallest peaks in the distance and next to zero light and noise pollution, this remote getaway has all the privacy you could ever want. There’s easy access to downtown Pioneertown for a show or barbecue at Pappy and Harriet’s or a stroll down the historic faux-Western Mane Street. Take a scenic half hour drive to downtown Joshua Tree for a hand-poured coffee and delicious meal, then head into the treasured National Park. Drive an hour down the hill to the chic restaurants and shops of revitalized Palm Springs. Or step right out the front door and explore the pristine natural wonder of backcountry Pioneertown. Getting Around Lucky 777 taxis do service the area if you want to go to a show at Pappy's and not have to worry about driving. Other Things to Note • CABIN SIZE
Our cabin is a small one bedroom. It is perfect for two people. If you are a family wanting to bring a child, feel free to contact us, but we have discovered that the cabin best suits only two people.
• PLEASE NOTE!!
You will be staying in a restored 1950s homestead. We've attempted to make the cabin as comfortable as possible given the limitations of the existing structure and utilities. This means you are trading some amenities for the experience. The shower probably doesn't have the kind of water pressure you're used to if you live in a city. The hot water doesn't stay hot very long (small tank, small electrical system = short showers, no bath). If you use a hair dryer, the A/C, the toaster and the hot water at the same time or you'll probably trip a circuit. People seem to really love it here, but if this doesn't work for you, we totally understand. No hard feelings.
• CELL PHONES
Not all cell phone companies have service in Pioneertown. We get AT&T pretty reliably, but the rest are spotty.
We do have Wi-Fi in the cabin, but there are occasional outages beyond our control once every few months. We do not guarantee you will have full access 100% of the time you are here (though you most likely will). It's a bit of a miracle that we even have internet at all as some of our neighbors do not. Hopefully this will not be an inconvenience.
There is a window unit A/C that keeps the bedroom cool if the door is closed, but the rest of the cabin is not cooled much by the A/C. Most of the year this is not an issue but July/August can be quite hot. If it's over 95 degrees be prepared to feel warm in the cabin.

Dogs may be allowed but the renter must first contact the owner for discussion. There is a flat $45 per dog fee.
