Antiparos Travel Guide

A small, idyllic island in the beautiful Southern Aegean sea, Antiparos forms part of the Cyclades. It’s the kind of paradisiacal Greek island of your dreams, one where you can while away days swimming, sunbathing, eating delicious food, and not much else. The island is one of the more undiscovered of the Greek Islands, and it's just a short boat trip from Paros.

Things to Do in Antiparos

Once on the island you’ll shed tears of delight at the seemingly endless array of coves, golden sandy beaches, perfect blue waters and panoramic views. You are literally spoiled for choice with beaches for families, couples, nudist beaches, sunset beaches, beaches for swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing, more exposed windy beaches -- the list goes on. Sea caves are another feature of this island, and you can join a boat tour that will drop you off right in the middle of them to dive and swim to your heart's content. Of course, the cave of all caves is the Antiparos Cave – one of the main attractions of the island. It is the only vertical cave in Europe and home to the oldest stalactite in Europe, a humble 45 million years old -- no big deal. If you get tired of the beach (which we doubt), you can wander the island’s array of elegant blue and white churches, which it is also famous for. There are 50 on the island! Both large and small and dotted around the island, they are all easily accessed.

Best Time to Visit Antiparos

It gets super hot in summer here, so you might want visit in June or September, when the weather is still gorgeous and you’ll be able to appreciate the milder temperatures.
