Baguio Travel Guide

Called the “City of Pines”, Baguio is a popular Filipino town know for its universities and resorts. It is also the home of the presidential summer residence known as The Mansion. Located on Luzon island, the city enjoys unusually cooler weather thus it has become a popular summer destination.

Things to Do in Baguio

The town features a variety of attractions to visit that include Burnham Park, with gardens and a lake, rose-hued Baguio Cathedral, and Session Road which is lined with shops, restaurants and entertainment options. Also notable are former U.S. military facility Camp John Hay which is now a hillside holiday complex with a golf course and forest trails, the sizable Botanical Garden and Wright Park which is home of the picturesque Pool of Pines.

Additionally, visitor often enjoy the artsy village of Tam-Awan with traditional huts and views out to the South China Sea, and the BenCab Museum exhibits the work of Benedicto Cabrera and other Filipino artists amid landscaped grounds.

Best Time to Visit Baguio

The best time to visit the hiking and biking trails is during the driest part of the year from December through May. However, temperatures are warm year-round, with mild nights. During February and March, the city blooms with the flower festival with parades, competitions and exhibitions.
