Set on the shores of Lake Charlevoix, Boyne City is a vibrant place with lots going on. Have fun on the Lake, explore the arts district, attend a music festival or enjoy golfing and skiing (depending on the season you visit).
Down at Lake Charlevoix and Boyne City Marina, take a boat out on the waters, go swimming, sailing, kayaking, water boarding or try your luck to bring home the catch of the day.
In nearby Young State Park you will find beautiful hiking and running trails, plus during winter, snowshoe hikes and crosscountry skiing.Avalanche Mountain is another big snow activity destination here, with great skiing, sledding and skating.
Alternativley, head to downtown Boyne City for a buzzing scene, with plenty of shops, great restaurants and the thriving arts district known as SoBo (South Boyne). There are many festivals throughout the year, plus outdoor street fairs and farmers' markets.
Springtime is all about nature in these parts and the celebrations get going in May with the Morel Mushroom Festival -- which sees Boyne City goes mushroom crazy. Summer is also great for the array of festivals taking place, plus for swimming and boating on the lake. Winter, of course, is best for snow activities.
