Brixham is a pretty harbor on the southern side of Torbay, Devon. It's a lovely spot for a classic, bona fide English fishing village experience, although it's also fast becoming a modern town with one of the busiest fishing ports in England.
Water sports, fishing, scenic walks, beaches - you name it - if it's water based, Brixham has it. Much of what goes on here is reflected by its proximity to the sea. You can try your own hand at crabbing, sailing, scuba diving, fishing, boating, swimming, and canoeing. Plenty of scenic walks are also close by, with lovely, flower lined cliff paths and even organized routes to catch the best view of the sunset. In town, find out what used to go down here from the Stone Age through present day at the Heritage Museum, or just wander around the pretty streets and pastel colored houses and choose where to have your fish and chips for supper.
Summer in Brixham can be simply perfect if you're lucky with the weather.
