Just like the name suggests, Carefree is a laidback town in Arizona where a lot of vacationers go to relax. Not far from Scottsdale and Cave Creek, this town is full of fun, with beautiful scenery, golfing opportunities and interesting art galleries. There is also retail therapy in town, with unique shops and boutiques that visitors won’t find anywhere else. For a bite to eat, there are different local cafés and restaurants to visit, including an English tea room, Italian restaurants, and places serving up good old American favorites.
The Carefree sundial, which is claimed to be the third biggest sundial that you can find in the Western Hemisphere, is one of the area's most popular spots. For a leisurely stroll and to unwind, the Carefree Desert Gardens are recommended. This is an oasis where there are botanical gardens that are beautiful to explore and feature over 50 desert plants. For golfers there is no better place to go than Boulders Resort Golf Club. This features granite rock surroundings and there are two championship courses for a round with friends and family.
The most popular time to visit Carefree is from June to September. To avoid really hot temperatures, vacationers can also visit in the fall.
