There are many sites and landmarks in Evansville so travelers should take advantage of the museums, parks, golf courses, and few guided tours that give some insight into life in Evansville. Our first suggestion is to visit the Dream Car Museum, which features many unique and exotic cars in a small, vibrant space. Even people that are not huge car fans will be impressed by the autos on display. Meanwhile, the docked USS LST Ship Memorial reflects on the military history in the area and tells the story of the ship’s landing during World War II, as well as its time in the Greek navy. The Evansville Museum of Arts and Sciences is a super cool new museum that features amazing works of art from famous painters like Monet and Renoir. There are also interactive science exhibits, which are fun for both children and adults. Also be sure to visit the Angel Mounds State Historic Site where Native American artifacts and buildings, that are over a thousand years old can be seen.

Spend some time in Evansville’s surrounding nature also. Plan on going for a hike in the Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, which features dozens beautiful trails and a center that rehabilitates animals. This is an excellent place to explore the serenity of Indiana. To spend some time on a lake visit Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife Area where many go to swim, fish, kayak, and canoe on the beautiful waters.

Best Time to Visit Evansville

In Evansville there are basically two seasons, a very long and hot summer, and a cold, wet, and windy winter. Sometimes fall and spring manage to get a few weeks to themselves in there also but be prepared for the temperatures either way.
