The beach itself is sheltered and protected by Duggerna Reef, with rock and tide pools full of interesting marine life to look at. You can also find tennis, squash and other amusements for kids plus gold courses nearby. The cliff scenery is a huge draw for tourists with some incredible scenic walks and view points all along to Loop Head Lighthouse. The Loop Head drive is also a beautiful stretch of scenery where you can take in the views and look for dolphins, seals and whales as well as birds. In town you can wander shops, restaurants and typical Irish pubs and bars and get a real feel of this lovely seaside town.

Summer makes for a lovely time here by the sea and you will be more likely to get drier weather, although the Emerald Isle is green for a reason!
