The little town of Lusten is home to the Lutsen Mountains, Superior National, resorts, and a little downtown area of shops, galleries, and businesses.
Lutsen is best known for its top attraction, the Midwest’s largest and tallest ski area. Here you can choose from runs over four mountains to ski and snowboard. If you're not a snow activity fan you can just gaze on fantastic views of the slopes and shores of Lake Superior as well as other facilities at the chalets. In other seasons, you can hike, bike, and explore the natural countryside as well as check out the aerial passenger gondola.
The next big attraction here is the 27-hole Superior National Golf course, following the base of Moose Mountain with the wonderful scenery of the Poplar River winding through the course. Nearby there are more parks, mountain hikes, and views to take in either as you're arriving and leaving town.
Visit in winter for all the fun of these magnificent slopes or in any other season for excellent hiking and exploring the wonderful natural surroundings and trails in the Lutsen Mountains.
