The Village of Millbrook is just 80 miles north of Manhattan and right in the middle of beautiful Hudson Valley. Originally settled by Quakers, Millbrook has a slow-paced village atmosphere, unspoiled countryside, and a welcoming community.
Millbrook is home to interesting attractions like Wing's Castle, a Medieval castle made from modern rubble. This unique landmark is the actual residence of owners and artists Peter and Toni Ann Wing, who fashioned the castle using reclaimed and recycled material.
When in Millbrook make sure you hit the Dutchess County Wine Trail for tastings at three local spots -- Millbrook Vineyards & Winery, Clinton Vineyard and boutique winery Oak Summit Vineyard. After, drop in and see the farm animals at Sprout Creek Farm, a dairy farm focused on farming, education and the community, and known for award-winning cheeses (which you can try for yourself). Also take some time to wander the town stores, including antiques and the stunning home store, NL-GB, owned by decorator Selina van der Geest.
Fall is pretty spectacular in Milbrook when the days are mild and beautiful, perfect for a wine tasting tour.
