Newburgh is located in New York, just south of Poughkeepsie. It is an ideal spot for family fun, a couples' getaway or even a long weekend with friends. Newburgh has been called the Crossroads of the Northeast, because of its proximity to many major cities, like New York City, Hartford, and Boston.
There is a lot to choose from when visiting Newburgh. Visitors are definitely going to want to check out Washington's Headquarters, a historic building overlooking the Hudons, which served as George Washington's headquarters during the Revolutionary War. Take a stroll along Montgomery and Grand Street to take in even more local history, or grab lunch then hop on board the cruise tour of the Hudson River, both of which are in this area as well. One of the more fun times for the whole family is the SplashDown Beach Water Park. Everyone in your group gets to spend time together and have a really great time.
