Beautiful Ocean City is located in a small harbor of Washington State and is bordered by multiple beaches. Ocean City is an ideal spot for family fun, a couples’ getaway or a long weekend with friends. The town may be small but it has plenty to offer -- most notably for nature-lovers who take advantage of Washington state's many outdoor activities, from trekking, waterfalls, and water sports.
If you like to spend most of your time outside, Ocean City is the place for you. Ocean City has amazing parks, forests, and beach shores to visit. Complete with a wonderful northern beach vibe, the town has large white sand dunes, swamps, and exciting forest parks.
Head to Ocean City Washington State Park where there are activities for the whole family including clamming, fishing, bird watching, wildlife viewing, an amphitheater, and camping. There are also grassy areas designed for volleyball and tennis games -- perfect for a sunny day. In the colder months, skating and sledding are on offer.
Playtime Family Fun Center is the spot for go-cart racing, playing video games, and carousel riding. For something a little more educational, the Coastal Interpretive Center is a science museum where both adults and children can learn about history, biology, chemistry, and botany. Additionally, perhaps the most memorable thing you can do in Ocean City is go whale-watching. For exact times and days check out the Whale Trail Guide, but usually the best months are in May and October, when the whales migrate.
For time away from the kids, the large Quinault Beach Casino is where visitors can try their luck and win big. Alternatively, treat yourself to some retail therapy at Ocean City Market Place where you can find numerous handmade items.
The busiest part of this little Ocean City is the downtown area where most shops, restaurants and entertainment is located. If you're looking for vibrant nightlife, this spot is for you. The range of downtown vacation rental homes provide absolute comfort for you and your group to make a home-away-from-home.
If you prefer a quieter area to stay, look closer to the beaches or to the state park -- here, you can enjoy direct access to nature from your own vacation space.
Ocean City is a northern town, meaning it doesn't get too hot throughout the year but the summer months are warm with an average of 60 degrees. From October to May it is very cold and rainy but vacation rentals are likely to be cheaper during this period, plus colder fall months are great for getting cozy in a vacation rental log cabin.
Ocean City has something to satisfy every palate -- old-school diners, restaurants serving homecooked food, fine-dining spots, and of course, plenty of seafood places. Due to Ocean City's diverse marine life, you have to try a local fish dish while in town!
