The wonderful northern area of Pacific Beach, Washington is a great little town for a getaway. Due to its location and amazing scenery, Pacific Beach has grown in popularity with travelers over the years. Things to Do in Pacific Beach

The best things to do include spending a day at the beach, soaking up the warm weather and enjoying a dip in the water to cool down.

During the migration season from May and November, visitors can see whales swimming near the shores -- an incredible sight to see. There are plenty of tours and boat rides which will take you to the best spots to see the whales. After, put on your shoes and enjoy a long, refreshing walk along the coast of Pacific Beach, grabbing a coffee or juice along the way at the beach bars.

Pacific Beach State Park is a great spot to visit for the whole family, having designated areas for picnics, volleyball, tennis, playgrounds, and many more activities. There's additionally an awesome view of the beach from the park -- the white sand beach and diverse nature have resulted in the beach being called one of the most beautiful in Washington state.

Museum of the North Beach is a great spot to learn more about the marine life of the area, with plenty of interesting exhibitions for children and adults. There are lots of playgrounds and kid-friendly restaurants in the Pacific Beach area but if you're not traveling with children, visit the signature bars of the area and soak up the laid-back vibes with a cocktail in-hand.

Heading into downtown, only a few block away from the State Park, enjoy delicious desserts, drinks and great food. After a long day of exploring, make your way to one of the spas and indulge in a soothing facial or massage.

Best Places to Stay in Pacific Beach

The harbour front and downtown areas are the best places to stay. If you prefer to have cafes and small restaurants just a few steps away from your vacation rental home, downtown rental apartments and condos are best.

If you want to wake up to the view of the ocean, choose from the large selection of beach house vacation rentals. There are also plenty of vacation rentals for families with fully equipped kitchens and nice living rooms, plus great vacation rental apartments for couples.

Best Time to Visit Pacific Beach

Because Pacific Beach is a northern city in Washington State, the weather can get a bit chilly. The summers are warm but relatively short. The best time to visit is in July to September when the average temperature is 70 degrees with plenty of sunshine and not too much rain. From December to March the average temperature is around 50 degrees or below, so if you plan to spend time outside, organize your trip during the summer.
