Rodanthe is located on Hatteras Island, part of North Carolina's outer banks, and is a beautiful stretch of undeveloped beaches and small villages with breathtaking scenery.
Rodanthe has been made famous recently by the movie Nights of Rodanthe, where its beauty and serene landscapes take starring roles. See it all for yourself at one of the soft, sandy beaches with blue clear waters or at the dunes.
Rodanthe is home to the Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station, a former US Coast Guard facility. Nowadays, the building serves as a museum and popular landmark, rich in maritime heritage. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is also worth a visit.
Head to Hatteras Island Fishing Pier for amazing ocean views and to cast a line out with the locals. For water sports, Rodanthe has plenty of opportunities for boat trips, kite surfing, windsurfing and fishing.
Summer is lovely on the island beaches, with warm temperatures kept cool by ocean breezes.
