Things to Do in Seminole, Florida

For the nature-lovers, head to Boca Ciega Millennium Park which boasts beautiful views of nature and wildlife -- including colorful birds. Prepare a picnic in advance and spend the day soaking in the sights and atmosphere; the park is also pet-friendly so you can bring your furry friend along too.

Elsewhere, Lake Seminole Park is the place to be for water sports. The picturesque area is over 250 acres large and is great for fishing and sailing, as well as jet skiing! As the area is protected wildlife habitat, it's home to an impressive range of animals, ranging from alligators to eagles to turtles! It's also a hotspot for hikers, who can enjoy the many trails that loop around the huge park. Entrance is free and there's parking for people arriving by car.

For when the weather isn't great, take the short 25-minute drive to St. Petersburg for the Dali Museum. The building pays tribute to the Spanish artist and his eccentric works and is the most comprehensive collection of his works outside of Europe.

After a long day exploring, the Rapp Brewing Company is a small brewery that produces hand-crafted artisanal ales and lagers. Guests can partake in tours here, including visiting the sampling rooms, where there are over 18 tasting taps to try from! Once you've worked up an appetite, tuck into the famous Seminole dish, Taal-Holyoke (boiled swamp cabbage), to eat like a true local.

From early March to early May, and late October to mid-December are the best periods to visit.
