The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum combines authentic belongings of the 16th president along with holographic movies, costumes, and decorated in a way that feels as though visitors have stepped back in time. For another taste of Honest Abe’s life, check out the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, which gives visitors a feel for how the president might have lived during his time in Springfield. It is also a free attraction so don’t miss it. The Illinois State Museum is a good place to learn about the history of the state, as well as about how and when was it settled. Lincoln Park is the most exciting part of town as there are lots of restaurants, cafes, night clubs, museums, and parks. While this part of the city is laid back, Springfield overall is a great place to have a relaxing visit.
