The quiet resort of Sunriver, Oregon, is a purpose-built vacation community in Deschutes County. With only 1,400 permanent residents, the small resort has remained unspoiled.

The resort is part of the Bend Metropolitan Statistical Area, located on the eastern side of the Deschutes River, about fifteen miles south of Bend at the base of the Cascade Range.

There are a mixture of residential homes and Sunriver vacation homes as well as recreational areas and a commercial development called 'The Village' at Sunriver. Guests can also enjoy banqueting facilities, a fine-dining restaurant and other amenities.

Travelers staying at Sunriver should take a walk to Fort Rock Park to experience the wildlife and get back to nature. There is a grassy field, pavilion shelter and playground equipment for children. There is also a recreation center on site at Sunriver called SHARC (Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic and Recreation Center).
