Three Rivers, Oregon is a tiny town just south of the extremely popular Bend. Situated amongst the pines of the Deschutes National Forest, Three Rivers has plenty of access to the stunning outdoors of the Oregon wilderness. The city's name comes partially from the fact that the Deschutes River snakes its way through the center of town.
Things to do and adventures in Three Rivers must begin with the outdoors. Trekkers and hikers have plenty of access to stunning trails in both the Deschutes National Forest and LaPine State Park. LaPine State Park is also home to a famous ponderosa pine tree which stands over 160 feet tall. Both also have excellent campgrounds, some of which are adjacent to beautiful rivers. Three Rivers is also just a quick drive away from some other noteworthy activities in Oregon. Mount Bachelor is not too far away and is one of the best places to go skiing or snowboarding in the region. Also Bend, Oregon is an undeniably cool city. It also has the highest brewery per capita rate in the US, so bottoms up!
Three Rivers is already rather tiny, so renting anywhere in the city will give travelers the opportunity to see everything the town has to offer. Snagging a rental that is on the river though is an incredibly nicee luxury.
Summers have the most tolerable and consistent tempeeratures of any season, meaning that outdoor reaction can be done everyday. However, for those eager to hit the slopes of Mount Bachelor, visit sometime between January and March.
Many of the best restaurants in Three Rivers have classic American grill cuisine like burgers, fries, and a cold beer. Our two favorites are The Basecamp Grill and Grille at Crosswater. Grille at Crosswater has a nice ambiance with a wooden interior and a scenic patio.
