The town has been recognized by the Mexican government as a ‘Pueblo Magico’, which means it’s one of around 100 small towns that has been honored for its natural beauty and cultural heritage. It was founded in the 18th century and you’ll see refurbished haciendas and colonial architecture lining the streets.
