The New York Travel Festival is heading to Brooklyn this weekend (April 14-17, 2016), and we’re so excited to be there!
Now in its fourth year, the NY Trav Fest consists of daily programming catering to savvy travelers and industry professionals… Whether you’re an industry professional or looking to break into the industry, NYTF is the place for travelers this weekend.
And although we hate to brag (just a little), we are pretty proud that you can find AllTheRooms co-founder Bill Beckler in two sessions this weekend.
• Innovation in Travel: What constitutes true innovation in the travel industry, and where are the opportunities for entrepreneurs in the coming years? This panel will explore the drivers of creation in the travel industry. This session is on Saturday at 11 am, and you can find more information here.
• Lessons Learned from Building a Travel Start-Up: In this presentation, Bill will share valuable lessons learned along the path of building AllTheRooms and his previous tenures as Director of Innovation at LastMinute.com, Manager of Business Intelligence at Travelocity, and an Engineer at Sherman’s Travel. He’ll review his top ten innovation mistakes that can be easily avoided, and issue a wakeup call to travel industry employees: Innovate or die! This session is one Saturday at noon, and you can find more information here.
And exclusively for our readers, we’re hooking up AllTheRooms followers with discounted access to all the fun!

The festival opens on Thursday, April 14, at Rocco’s Tacos with an industry-only track presenting the latest tools for press relations and marketing strategies. On Friday, April 15, the festival’s 2nd Annual Travel Unity Summit (in partnership with Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams) will focus on economic development through tourism at Brooklyn Borough Hall.
Over the weekend of April 16-17, the festival moves to St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, with a two-day program encompassing expert panels and presentations on digital marketing, emerging markets, entrepreneurship, best uses of media, creating diversity, and sustainability in the tourism industry, and more, as well as performances, networking events and immersive exhibits from our partners in NYC and around the world.
