AllTheRooms is a one-stop shop for finding the perfect place to stay, and as travelers ourselves, we’re always scouring the earth for our personal favorite places to stay. On a recent trip to Philly from NYC (an easy bus ride away), we discovered the Alexander Inn, and we were so impressed by the friendly staff and central location that we wanted to share the inside scoop with you:
From the moment you check in, you’ll feel right at home in the Alexander Inn, an adorable boutique hotel located in Center City, one of the most ideal spots in Philadelphia. The entire staff is highly accommodating, and they have great recommendations on the best spots to see in the city.
The rooms are large and spacious, and all of the rooms offer guests city views of Washington Square West. The Alexander Inn is located in a historic building, and has been renovated to offer guests modern amenities. The original architectural detail includes stained glass windows, detailed oak wood moldings and marble tile floor patterns.
The hotel offers a continental breakfast, although we’ll admit, we were still tempted to make our way over to the Reading Terminal Market for a quick bite in the morning (which is located a short walk away). Also located within walking distance are several other great food spots, including Jim’s Steaks (which the hotel recommends as the best place for Philly cheesesteak), Big Gay Ice Cream Shop (trust us on this one — you won’t regret it) and also Monk’s Cafe (get the Flemish Sour Ale).
The perfect location for the savvy traveler, the Alexander Inn has fixed low rates with pricing starting at $119. There’s free wifi, a fitness room and also a computer center.
