AllTheRooms Approved: Where to Stay in Oakland // SF

san francisco hotels

It’s not every day that we find an Airbnb where we are completely obsessed with every detail.

The simplicity of Urban Solar Beach House is what will draw you in, and the comfort and relaxation is what will make you want to return to your newest home-away-from-home.

Emily, your host, has impeccable taste — from the statement pieces (like the gorgeous fig trees and the Cuban art that hangs on the wall) down to the book selection and detailing (such as the vintage camera that sits atop an antique desk). A three-bedroom space (two bedrooms are available for rent), the apartment offers the perfect getaway for solo travelers or a small group of friends. Oh and did we mention that Emily has an adorable dog? Her name is Meili, and Emily adopted her from Taiwan (swoon).

The neighborhood is adorable, and you are just a short walk from the trendy neighborhoods Pill Hill and Uptown Oakland (we recommend Farley’s East for your coffee fix), Lake Merritt (perfect for an afternoon stroll), as well as BART, the public transportation system that offers easy access to SF and the rest of the city.

To top it all of, we love that Emily’s apartment is completely eco-friendly. The set-up makes it easy to compost, the lovely apartment is solar-powered and she’s got two hens in the backyard (for the eggs). Perfection.
