Half sci-fi movie, half music festival, Boomtown Music Festival is the ultimate trip of the imagination. A fictional town founded by a gold prospector, Boomtown is complete with neighborhoods such as Chinatown and Barrio Loco, an oppressive government system and a people’s uprising that insights more partying. Over the course of the four-day festival, festival goers get lost in the town’s ever changing story and catch performances by hundreds of artists.

Boomtown Dates and Location

Boomtown takes place at the Matterley Estate in Winchester, England from Thursday, August 10 to Sunday, August 13.

Boomtown Lineup

Boomtown Tickets

Boomtown Tickets can be purchased online on the official site.

Coach Traveler – $229 – For 18+ festival goers taking coach service from 55 pick up locations and looking to camp on the grounds.

Shuttle Traveler – $287 – For 18+ festival goers looking to camp and hop on the shuttle to and from the Winchester train station.

Teens – $209 – Must be accompanied by an adult 30+ who has already purchased their ticket.

Children – Entry is free for all children up to the age of 12.

The festival encourages ticket buyers to add a $2.50 addition to a local charity called Street Reach which engages with at-risk youth in the local community.

Getting to and From Boomtown

Coach – Picking up festival goers from 55 locations throughout the UK, the festival’s official coach service makes getting to and from the festival easy. Coach tickets can be purchased along with an entry ticket or separately through the coach service’s website. The combined entry/coach ticket is the best value available.

Train and Shuttle – Shuttles run to and from the Winchester train station throughout the festival, charging $6 each way. Again, tickets can be bought as packages (see ticket section) or separately. Check out the train services website for train ticket options.

Car – Several parking lots offer space for festival goers who come by car. Priority parking is reserved for people with special accessibility needs and for families with children who have reserved camping spaces.

Where to Stay for Boomtown

Camping is the encouraged accommodation option for festival goers, but just in case you want more privacy and a private bathroom setup, we’ve found a few local places that might make you a little more comfortable.

Hotel The Winchester Hotel and Spa is right in the heart of Winchester and offers four-star rooms for $192 per night. An outdoor terrace-style eating area and spa services are nice touches.

Airbnb – This room in nearby Chandler’s Ford is an excellent option for couples attending the festival. The house is shared with two hosts but this option would be a nice break from the chaos of the festival. Booking goes for $74 per night. The solid five-star rating on Airbnb is nice reassurance too.

Airbnb – This bedroom in Winchester is ideal for two friends attending the festival. A five-star rating and ideal location for $59 per night is hard to beat.
