Headed into its 60th year, the Monterey Jazz Festival features over 500 artists in more than 100 shows on eight stages. Along with a lineup featuring some of the genre’s biggest names, the festival’s location on the beautiful Central California Coast makes it a must-attend festival for West Coast jazz fans.

Monterey Jazz Festival 2017 Dates and Location

The Monterey Jazz Festival is held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California from Friday, September 15 to Sunday, September 17, 2017.

Monterey Jazz Festival Lineup

The Arena Artists are the headline acts that perform on the main stage.  

The Grounds Artists perform on smaller stages (both indoor and outdoor).

Monterey Jazz Festival Tickets  

3 Day Arena Package –  $315-410 – Access to all five headline performances on the arena stage. Prices depend on your seat’s proximity to the stage.

3 Day Ground Access – $145 – All day access to the seven smaller ground stages.

Friday Arena Package – $82 – Access to the sole Friday arena stage show.

Saturday Arena Package $164 – Access to both Saturday arena stage shows.

Sunday Arena Package – $164 – Access to both Sunday arena stage shows.

Getting to and From the Monterey Jazz Festival

Air – San Jose, Oakland, and San Francisco International Airports are within a two-hour drive from the festival. San Jose is the closest at just an hour and fifteen minute’s drive from Monterey.

Car – Festival goers from the Bay Area and the Central Valley or Southern California will all use Highway 1. The venue is directly off the highway at the North Fremont Street exit.

Shuttle – Festival goers arriving by car can park at Monterey Peninsula College and take Monterey-Salinas Transit buses to the festival free of charge. Parking at Monterey Peninsula College is cheaper than parking at the venue itself.

Where to Stay for the Monterey Jazz Festival

Monterey is a beautiful small city on California’s Central Coast that has a great selection of accommodations. We’ve picked a few that will catch your eye.
