Solid Sound is an alternative rock and arts festival organized by Grammy Award-winning alternative rock group Wilco. Along with Wilco, the lineup includes a wide variety of alternative and indie groups, comedy acts, food vendors and activities for adult festival goers and their children. The Solid Sound Festival prides itself in being different than other festivals. Just as the music is alternative, so it the festival vibe.

Solid Sound Festival 2017 takes places Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Getting to and From Solid Sound Festival
Air – Albany International Airport is about an hour and 15 minutes from the festival by car. Hartford/Springfield International Airport is just over an hour and 45-minute drive.
Bus – Peter Pan Bus service offers rides to North Adams from New York and Boston. Visit the Peter Pan website to check times and buy tickets. The North Adams bus station is just a six-minute walk from the festival venue.
Rideshare – The festival encourages you to use Skedaddle to organize shared van and bus rides from your community to the festival. The code SOLIDSOUND10 will get you a $10 discount.
Car – North Adams is just under three hours from Boston, just under two hours from Hartford and three and a half hours from New York City. Parking information is on the festival’s official page.
Where to Stay for Solid Sound Festival
Bed and Breakfast – Journey’s End Bed and Breakfast is a Berkshire Mountains getaway cabin. Along with comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast, Journey’s End features beautiful views of the surrounding New England wilderness. Rooms start at $165 per night.

Airbnb – For a single traveler or a couple looking for a room closer to the festival, this 19th century North Adams home is just a five-minute walk from the festival.
