If you haven’t received your private invite to NY Fashion Week, it’s possible that it got lost in the mail, or maybe you were never expecting one in the first place (minor details). Either way, just because you won’t be sitting front row at designer fashion shows, doesn’t mean you have to completely miss out on all the action.
Between the celebrity sightings, after parties, meet and greets, and surrounding events, you can still get your fashion fix without ever stepping your foot in one of those overcrowded warehouses. As long as you’re in Manhattan from February 8th to 16th, you’ll be part of the event; just make sure to dress the part.
The fashion shows take place in Manhattan at the Lincoln Center and Bryant Park, and we found five great places to stay nearby.
Times Square Hotel
Hotel Mela in Times Square is not only the obviously perfect location, but it’s also not so hard on the wallet. This 4-star hotel provides rooms in the heart of New York City at a fraction of the price of its competitors, but for the full value. Get all of the amenities you’d expect from a high-end hotel, like concierge, onsite French restaurant, deluxe bedrooms, and spectacular views for around $130/night. This is the obvious choice if you’re looking to stay close to the NYFW action.
Faux-home in Manhattan
Pretend you live in the greatest city in the world inside this adorable 2-bedroom apartment in Manhattan. The best part: you can bring your friends with you. This space sleeps five people between two full-size beds and a pullout couch. In addition, you have access to WiFi, streaming television, and close proximity to Bryant Park and Times Square. Choose this place for only $285/night, not bad for Manhattan steal.
A Sofitel Steal
A hotel that needs no introduction, Hotel Sofitel is 4.5-star, high-end luxury at its finest. The decor alone will make you consider a long-term stay. Rooms start at $200/night, and you won’t get a better view of New York City for that price. Enjoy an onsite bar, full-service amenities, and blackout drapes for the nights when you party a little too hard.
The 6 Columbus is the most fashion-forward hotel you’ll find within the 5-mile radius of the Lincoln Center. Dark, wooden floors and animal skin rugs are offset by lively green botanicals and fluorescent lighting. Yes, you’re at fashion week, but the high thread count sheets and satin throw might be the nicest material you wear all weekend. A stay at this boutique hotel will make you feel like you belong at NYFW, even if only for a moment.
Views of Manhattan
Hudson hotel has a garden rooftop terrace overlooking Manhattan. While that is probably enough to entice you, each room comes with Egyptian cotton sheets, down comforters, cable television, and designer toiletries. You will be within walking distance to the Lincoln Center, so you can preserve those heeled feet, and you’ll have a concierge to handle all of your immediate needs. The great news is that your stay only costs you $116/night.
