Orlando is one of the most exciting destinations in Florida. Central Florida Scottish Games

Immerse the kids in a cultural day at the Central Florida Scottish Games. You don’t have to come wearing a kilt (although it’s encouraged) and you can take part in family-friendly games including Viking-inspired ax throwing, highland country dancing, sheep herding, and much more. It’s guaranteed family fun for all.

Paws in the Park

Pet lovers from all over Florida gather at Lake Eola to support Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, which is an organization that looks to shelter, rehome, and heal pets. The event includes a walk around the scenic Lake Eola — pets, and their owners, are welcome!

SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival

If your kids are already showing signs of being serious foodies at a young age, why not bring them to SeaWorld Seven Seas Food Festival? The event is home to food, drink, music concerts, and entertainment that all of the family will love. Entry to the festival is included with regular admission to SeaWorld Orlando — great for travelers on a budget in Orlando. There are plenty of kid-friendly food options, including foods from different cultures alongside traditional American fare.

Universal Orlando Mardi Gras

The Mardi Gras parades at Universal Orlando is one of the most exciting annual events in Orlando. There are evening parades that include street performances, outrageous costumes, bright colors, and music from traditional New Orleans bands — plus you can fill up on tasty Cajun street food.

Florida Blueberry Festival

Did you know that blueberries are one of Florida’s top fruit exports? Why not celebrate all things ‘blue’ at the Florida Blueberry Festival? Blueberries usually ripen from April through to August. Farms all over the Orlando area open their doors to locals and travelers who are looking to do a spot of blueberry picking, so start thinking of all the delicious baked goods you can make! The best place to head is the Formosa Gardens Event Center where entry is free.

4th July Fireworks

Wherever you are in the United States, the 4th of July is always an exciting experience. Be sure to check out the fireworks at the fountain in Lake Eola Park in Orlando. It’s a spectacular display and there are food trucks in the park to keep you well fed throughout the evening display.

September to November

Orlando Studios Halloween Horror Night

If your kids are a bit older and can handle a spooky Halloween experience, be sure to visit Orlando Studios Halloween Horror Night, which runs from September to November. Expect everything from grizzly-looking food, through to adrenaline-pumping pranks, haunted houses, and creepy mazes.

City of Orlando Tree Lighting Ceremony

Is there anything better to get you in the mood for Christmas than seeing an enormous Christmas tree being lit up? Take the family to the Lake Eola Park for the official City of Orlando Tree Lighting Ceremony.
