Ever wanted to sleep in the bed of a celebrity? Maybe preferably while they aren’t in it with you? Well, good news, there are a few homes that are owned, or have been owned, by Hollywood A-listers and are available to stay in right now. We’ve taken a look at some of the most popular destinations for celeb getaways and some of the places famous people really live in. Type up those fake Oscar acceptance speeches and get ready to perform in the bathroom mirror of these celebrity vacation rentals:

Palm Springs, California

Palm Springs made itself a getaway for famous people in large part because of its proximity to Los Angeles. The town and its many golf courses are just about 100 miles east of the studios in LA. Unless one of the popular desert music festivals is raging, the Palm Springs area in the Coachella Valley has a rather sleepy feel to it. Although it may be too hot in the summer, the rest of the year is a great time to find a vacation rental and soak in the pool (a feature that basically comes standard in the desert).

Where to Stay

Casa Elizabeth

Arguably the most well-known celebrity home in the desert is affectionately called Casa Elizabeth. The name is a direct homage to its former owner Elizabeth Taylor. The gated home is quite luxurious and features things one would expect from the late-great actress, including rooms with soft pink walls, leopard print, and of course, paintings of Elizabeth’s face. No word on if the home reeks of White Diamonds.

Bing Crosby’s Former Home

A slightly less ostentatious option — and our choice of favorite celebrity home in Palm Springs — is this home which once belonged to the crooner Bing Crosby. Built in the early 30s, the home reflects a common hacienda style that was once common in Southern California. The vaulted wooden ceiling, tile roof, and brick floors reflect an elegant yet functional design (these features don’t trap heat), while the back pool deck is the home’s best feature and complete with a cantina.

Frank Sinatra Estate

Likely the biggest name to call the California desert home is Frank Sinatra. His estate looks much like it did when he lived there, but we prefer Bing’s place because of the price tag — those that want to stay in Frankie’s home need to be ready to spend $2,500 – $4,500 USD per night.

South Florida

Besides New York and Los Angeles, Miami has a major case for the most luxurious city in the U.S. Also, after the Big Apple and City of Angels, it probably has the highest concentration of famous citizens. Further south, Key West has always been a tropical haunt for celebs.

The Real World House

Once upon a time, The Real World revolutionized the reality TV game and was one of the most popular shows in the world. It was set on the premise that strangers were constantly filmed living together in a very nice house. One of the more memorable seasons happened in 2006 in Key West. The bright, waterfront home is now available for rent and can accommodate up to 22 people and their reality TV-worthy shenanigans.

Caribbean

Who hasn’t dreamed of staying in a beachfront villa in the Caribbean? Well, the nice thing about being a celebrity is you don’t have to dream about it, just go and buy a beachfront villa.

Where to Stay

Bougainvillea House Villa

This unbelievably beautiful home is located on a less-frequented island in the Bahamas, which makes it a perfect choice for privacy. Celebrities like Penelope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem, as well as Glenn Close, and Maury Povich have all made use of this home. Also, in 2016, it was used for the cover shoot for the famous (or infamous) Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

For a Jamaican alternative, this home was lived in by Sean Connery and has 50 acres of private land surrounding it. To think of the things 007 may have done in there…

New Mexico

We guess this qualifies as our surprise pick! New Mexico, in general, is often overlooked as a vacation destination (or as a quality state in general). While its biggest claim to Hollywood fame may be Breaking Bad, the showe depicted Albuquerque more like a hellish landscape than a cool place to be.

However, New Mexico’s capital, Santa Fe, is incredibly charming and remains somewhat of a hidden gem simply because it’s located in New Mexico. Big time names like Robert Redford, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Shirley McClaine have all called the Land of Enchantment home. That said, this is truly the place to visit for literary buffs. Cormac McCarthy lived in Santa Fe and used the surrounding area as inspiration for his “Border Trilogy” which included Blood Meridian and All the Pretty Horses. Not to mention, Game of Thrones author George RR Martin lives here and is a major contributor to the city’s art scene.

Where to Stay

Literary Cabin

In keeping with the literary theme, this cabin rental sits on a larger eco-lodge property and was once the home of Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World. While it may not be as luxurious as the others, it is just as historic. The rental is near the town of Taos and the famous UNESCO site Taos Pueblo.

Los Angeles

Now for our least surprising pick. While Los Angeles may not constitute as a getaway for famous folk who live (or have lived) there full time, out-of-towners can find plenty of vacation rentals here suitable for the rich and famous.

Where to Stay

Houdini’s House

There have been many houses in Los Angeles that were once owned by celebrities and later used as vacation rentals. This includes big names like Denzel Washington and Jim Morrison. Although, the most popular celebrity vacation rental in LA was once owned by the world’s most famous magician. Houdini’s house is one of the most best-known homes in the area, along with the Playboy Mansion and the Fresh Prince of Bell Air house, and is an amazing example of Hollywood elegance. With massive grounds, ornate living quarters, and parking for over 80 cars, it is a truly unique, authentically Hollywood place to stay.

An alternative would be to stay at this Hollywood estate that has been owned by David Bowie, Orson Welles, Barbra Streisand, and Frank Sinatra.
